St Vincent’s Care Services Edgecliff is a 39 bed, government accredited aged-care facility providing quality care for the elderly in a homely environment. The Edgecliff facility is located in a private setting in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, within walking distance from the Edgecliff train and bus station, surrounded by tree-lined streets. The residents enjoy the beautiful onsite gardens and private and central courtyards.

In addition residents are able to access extra services providing them with personalised service and care. The facility also offers residents peace of mind with high level security and CCTV cameras.

St Vincent’s Care Services purchased the Edgecliff facility on 1st July 2015 from the Trustees of Catholic Aged Care Sydney, on behalf of St Joseph’s Catholic Parish, Edgecliff. The facility was previously known as Albert Court and was built in 1993 and was an initiative of the parish of St Joseph’s Catholic Church and the inspiration of the Franciscan friars who have served the church for many years.

Please note that some of our rooms at St Vincent’s Care Services Edgecliff are offered on an extra service basis in addition to the accommodation payment.

The extra services at our Edgecliff facility include access to a substantial DVD/video/book library which is regularly updated. Residents are provided with daily newspapers and current issues of magazines. Private gardening areas/garden beds are available for residents, including gardens specifically designed for residents living with dementia. Residents are also able to participate in regular outings (at least weekly) including park outings, coffee club, art therapy, IT, Wii games, indoor golf/bowls, crosswords, memory books, movies, cards, poetry, current affairs, knitting and board games group. The facility mini bus is also used for resident outings.

St Vincent’s Edgecliff offers residents quality care provided by an integrated team of nurses, personal carers, allied health professionals and caring volunteers.

Common Areas

Residents at St Vincent’s Care Services Edgecliff have access to a modern hairdressing room, beauty salon, massage room, large TV’s, Foxtel in the lounge rooms, and a stylish dining room which joins to the newly renovated kitchen. All corridors and common areas have been fitted with new carpet/vinyl and repainted within the last two years. Jura coffee making machines are available on both floors. Newspapers and magazines are available in the resident common areas. Fresh flowers are also displayed throughout the facility. In addition, St Vincent’s Care Services Edgecliff is set amongst neighbouring landscaped and tree lined gardens offering sensory and peaceful surroundings. Located within the centre of the facility is a sheltered courtyard garden with a beautiful fountain containing gold fish. The facility is also conveniently situated right next door to St Joseph’s Church.


St Vincent’s Care Services Edgecliff offers residents a range of activities including: art  therapy, knitting, indoor golf/bowls, movies, Wii games, crosswords, memory books, cards, poetry, current affairs, board games and more. Residents are also able to participate in regular weekly outings.

St Vincent’s Care Services Edgecliff is located in Sydney’s eastern suburbs only four kilometres from the Sydney GPO.  The suburb offers fantastic views of Port Jackson and is a highly sought-after suburb due to its close proximity to the city.


Edgecliff takes its name from its location because it literally sits on the edge of a cliff. The rocky cliff was extensively quarried in the early day of European settlement.

Today, the residents of the suburb come from primarily English, Australian, Irish and Scottish cultural backgrounds. Many historic buildings still stand - including the Dower House. The gorgeous sandstone Victorian Gothic Revival house is a perfect example of the area’s original architecture.


St Vincent’s Care Services Edgecliff is conveniently located close to St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney, St Vincent’s Public Hospital and Sacred Heart Health Services.


Edgecliff is serviced by both buses and trains.  Edgecliff railway station is an underground railway station on the Eastern Suburbs Line of the Sydney Trains network. Trains are quite frequent, especially during peak hour. A bus interchange is located above the railway station.
